Age-band of the individual derived from the individual's age at last birthday, as reported by FRS respondents.

• 80-84
• 85+

*Where 16 to 19 year olds will be defined as a child if they are:

• not married nor in a civil partnership nor living with a partner; and
• living with parents/a responsible adult; and
• in full-time non-advanced education or in unwaged government training.

Total number of main categories: 16

Total number of further child age bands splits higher categories: 18

Total number of further child age bands splits lower categories: 21

The age-band is provided to maintain data confidentiality and ensure sample sizes are not too small to prevent useful analysis.
